When I was in the Army, I wanted to go to language school, but they sent me to High Speed Radio. Later changed to Communication, and sent to NSA. Just before I was to get out, the Army wanted me to become a Helicopter pilot, which I turned down. The rest is history.

All sounds familiar. It’s haunting that a decision made to fill a requirement—sending me to language school for Vietnamese, not Chinese—reshaped my life. Yeah, the rest is history, my history.
